I know I'm bringing to life an older thread here, but did you go with the 8500 and 250? How is it working out for you so far? I'm looking to upgrade as well and I'm wanting to retain every factory function I've got (BOSE, 2nd row entertainment, back-up camera and sensors, bluetooth, sirius, onstar, door chimes, etc.). I use an iPhone 5 now as well. Did you go with the Pac-Audio RadioPro 5 (RP5GM31) interface kit or the Axxess (ADGM100) interface or even something different?

I have not done my install outside of my 2010 vcim install. I am getting custom rear side panels for 12's for my Tahoe.

NathanJax - regarding SiriusXM, did you use the existing oem antenna instead of the magnet antenna that comes with the SiriusXM 200v1 Tuner?

If so did you get an adapter for it or did you take off the yellow plastic plug and then connect straight to the new SiriusXM tuner?

never used XM... however, I'm almost positive I got the OEM one working (the channel 1 broadcast channel or whatever) on mine hooked through the AUX and the stations show up on the DIC. I didn't have to have the 200v1. It takes some getting use to, but it works.

Gotcha. Yeah the harness I got can use the factory xm and it does display on the DIC but I bought the separate tuner so it all shows on the Pioneer unit. I'll keep searching around.

Pain in the ass to get all those wires back there. I cut out some of the plastic behind the radio like others did to get it to fit. Everything works really nice. I even installed an HDMI port in my center console to hook into the apple digital adapter. Really liking the 8500bhs. Hardest part was figuring out how to work it since the manual is horrible. Finally figured out how to listen to SiriusXM or anything else while in appradio mode for nav, etc. I also used the oem satellite radio antenna on the roof so I didn't have to run that magnet antenna for the SiriusXM tuner.

Saw that. And I hate you for it!

Looks incredible. Very jealous.
