While they don't always have the best prices on tires, I have had good luck at the Firestone place as a lot of their tires have a 30 day warranty to swap them out (or, I suppose you could possibly get your money back, but that wouldn't be very helpful if you were tireless). Our other car, 2004 Focus zx5, has somewhat odd sized tires, so I thought I would be clever and move very slightly (about 2% difference in overall size) to a more common sized tire as the tires I had on there before were discontinued. I was going to save about 150 bucks by changing sizes, talked to the Firestone folks, got the new tires, same thing you had at speed. Took them back in, rotation, balance, alignment (all for free), worked for about a day and then they were back to the same. Again, back in, all things done again, seemed to last for a few days, still no go. Finally, took it in for the third time, told them I didn't like the tires and pointed out they were part of the lines included in the 30 day thing, and left with 4 brand new, correctly sized tires. I found out later, after doing some digging, that people were having lots of problems with that first set I bought, so much so, they were being discontinued, so I think it was the tire, not the size. The set I ended up with has been rock solid (knock on wood) though.

Anyway, all that aside, good thing they got you fixed up. There is little worse than something like that happening right after you spent all that money on new tires.
