I did mine last fall. The person before me did it and it was not prepped correctly. The Chrome was chipping and they just covered it up. I stripped the old stuff off, pain in the ass, best thing I found was using a lot of carb/engine cleaner and wire brush. WD40 can suck me, its worthless to remove the spray painted rubber coating. Goof Off wasnt too bad. then once clean, I used TSP to clean any residue off. then I hand sanded the rims with 220 and then steel wool followed by a good wiping , air hosing and final check, then i used Tape to border the rims and went to town painting them. I put on about 4 coats as i had several cans. Cant hurt to have too much of this stuff. BE SURE ITS CLEAN!
