Hello thanks for taking a sec to help out. So here is the back round, i bought my wife a used 2008 yukon xl 6.2l, with around 130k miles. The car has been working great runiing around and put about 5 k running back and forth from OR to CA. Then about 2 months back i bought a travel trailer its a passport ultra light" here are the specs" https://www.rvusa.com/rv-guide/2010...-lite-travel-trailer-floorplan-2590-bh-tr4640 . so about a month back i went on the first trip to cali with the trailer it pulled great the whole way then when i got down there my air ride compressor died some house, it just stoped working. i took it into the shop and they said i need a new one, would be around 800. i went and pick up compressor for 275 at the chevy dealer. paid them 200 for labor and was good. it worked but not as well as the last one did. it would not jack up the car as high and would take longer. and now i can hear like the sound of air releasing shortly after it pumps up. So kinda just figured it was a different compressor. So then the next big trip to Cali was just this last week. i drove about 1k miles befor anything happened. So we went to leave and pulled out of rv park and got about an hour into drive when the check engine and stabilitrack service came on, also the traction control. and could kinda hear a knock in the engine was close to home about 30 min away so putted home and now its parked i can see there is red oil leaking under it. i am going to take it into the shop was just looking for some help so i do not get taken to the bank. Thanks again.

Red oil sounds like trans fluid. Can you see where it's leaking from?

That doesn't look red though, right? Check the dipstick. How's the oil level? You said red oil leaking under it. At least what general area do you see the red oil (probably trans fluid, like Tony said )?

If you dont see oil on the bottom of transmission cover (not even residue on one of the small bolts holding pan in place), I remember a leak caused by another part not too far from the U joint that is normally misconcepted as a leaky trans but really is something else. I know that probably didnt help much but only red oils would be in transmission, transfer case and diff.

Gary, what are the trouble codes? I wonder if you're transmission overheated or got hot and expanded enough to come out of the vent. As for the suspension, you need to check your air lines for leaks and almost certainly need to change the rear shocks.

It would be best if you can get your hands on an advanced code reader. One that can see inside the computer systems and not just pull trouble codes.

Hey I have not been able to check the codes for right when I got back I had to go back to work and don't have a day off until Sunday so won't be able to get it to a shop until Monday. Yeah it's really weird that the old compressor did not let off the air after it was done pumping up but I have been told that I'll probably need to replace those rear shocks.

The only spot that I actually did see an oil drip look like it was coming out of the yolk or Driveline something like that
