Possible transfer case noise

How much fluid did you get when you drained it? Was it clean? Did the case appear to have fluid on it anywhere? With that mileage I would think you could grab the front output shaft and feel play where it goes into the end of the case.
For the most part it was decent oil and everything has play or clearence but what kind of numbers is excessive. .010 .200 numbers would help.

Pretty much if its not an audible clunk it probably okay. Usually with that mileage that's where you'll see the wear though. And that end bearing will start to "rumble".

I had to work on my daughters car it’s a Ford but rear ends are rear ends. I didnot here any noises dad. Yea sure. Axle broke off behind bearing and eat damage housing nothing left of bearings lucky rollers didn’t get into ring and pinion. Point is I made some fixtures on my lath out of water pipe fittings and swedged bad into shape tube sizes and had a nice interference fit for new bearings and saved rear end housing. Some stuff goes back to good old blacksmith days. And American ingenuity. New axle and seals and bearing. Turn off the loud music
