I'm torn between a White Tahoe and a White Ford F150 Lariat.

There are different things I like about each truck but am truly undecided. What the Tahoe offers, the F150 doesn't and vice versa.

I'd love to hear some reasons why you chose your Tahoe!

Why not get the silverado? Kinda hard to compare a truck to a SUV.

A Tahoe is essentially a pickup with a built in cap with finished space. I like the room, handling and comfort of the Tahoe. I like its ability to carry me and my stuff pretty much anywhere I want to go

I've got two little ones so for me it was all the space that it offers. I like the overall design and the features it offered as well. I've also had a lot of fun putting the various mods on it.

I have a few gripes here and there but nothing that would prevent me from buying again or possibly buying a new model to replace the current one.

I own both, a white f150 lariat (2004) and a white Tahoe LT (2016). The truck is mine, the Tahoe is my wife's / family truckster. As our family grew we went from the equinox to the Tahoe. It's nice to have everything within reach insure the Tahoe on long trips. Taking the truck on long trips, I have to put the tonneau cover on the bed, which was a PITA because I don't usually have it on there. I use my truck bed to much to keep it on. It's nice to have a truck for when you need to go get lawn mower gas, or pool shock. I'd rather not ride around with either of those inside the Tahoe.... Fumes and spill risk. Now with the Tahoe, it can still pull the boat, so we're not forced into taking the truck. The Tahoe is nice for grocery getting too - seriously. The equinox didn't have much cargo space so crap was piled on top and sometimes the bread got smashed. With the truck, what didn't fit between the kids in the back seat or on the floor was put in the bed. With the Tahoe, everything for a family of 5 fits in the cargo area with a stroller. Each has its + and -. Depends on where you are in life, and what you would use each for.

I have a White 2016 Tahoe LT..I take a lot of trips [Miami-NYC] and other places..For long trips I love it..I travel either alone or with 1 or 2 other people so the Tahoe works well for me ..Otherwise I would have a Suburban.

I can get almost 500 miles on tank of regular fuel if I want with both the front and rear a/c on with the 26 gallon tank..The gauges are easy to read at a glance..I love the height which is one of the main reasons I bought it..The seats are super comfy IMHO and can drive for long distances without constant breaks like I used to do in my other vehicles.

BTW everyone that gets in my Tahoe always comments how much they love the interior and how comfy it is..Everyone says it is the easiest vehicle to get in and out...Even the ones that can barely walk due to health issues...They also love the rear a/c.

The only down side is when I have to put the third row of seats up [due to my friends kids in New Jersey] I have to get most of my stuff out of there and bring it up to my hotel room as there is very little storage there once the third row goes up..But I can live with that as that does not happen often.

Honestly there is no other vehicle on the road that I would rather be in but the Tahoe.

I agree on the gas .ileage and the storage issue when the 3rd row is up.

My 04 f150 5.4L lariat is 4x4, leveled and runs 33" tires, and I'm lucky to get 13mpg. Again, it's a 2004, so they didn't have ecoboost and the better fuel economy with the same power they do now. The Tahoe consistently gets 23mpg or better with the 5.3L and I can still drop the hammer and accelerate enough to put a little smile on my face.

We purposely got the bench seat in the Tahoe for the 3 kids, but wanted the 3rd row in case we had more people or kids friends. When the 3rd row is up, we can fit the stroller back there, but not much more. Only downside, but I couldn't justify a burban for rare occasions.

I have a 2015 Tahoe. I have had Tahoes and Suburbans since 1975. This is the 5th Tahoe I have owned. They get better and better, more car like, smoother ride, quieter, etc. The 2015 is the best of all I have had.

I buy it for the room. This is the second one I have had with the 3rd row seats, I had a 2007 prior to this Tahoe. I have NO USE for 3rd row seats, but the 2015 seats do drop down nicely. I have the 2nd row buckets which gives a great spot for a cooler between the sets when I load it up to go shooting or hunting.

I have 43,000 miles on it, and no problems with it. Some minor issues when I first got it, but were fixed under warranty, and I don't even remember what they were. I do not have a problem with the drone or noise, the V4/V8 works fine, the 5.3 liter engine is great, good power. I have the tow package, so I have a higher numerical ratio differential. I have the 4 wheel drive, no problems. I occasionally tow a 7 X 14 enclosed trailer with a race car in it, and the power train has no problem with it.

All in all I am very pleased with my 2015 Tahoe. The only thing I would change on it would be to delete the 3rd row seats, which would give a little bit more room in the rear area. I never have more than 4 people in the car, so I don't need the seats in back.

Get the Tahoe and then buy a small open trailer to tow for errands that require a pick up bed. Problem solved.

I purchased a Suburban because the Tahoe was too small to accommodate cargo if all three rows of seating are in use. I have found the Suburban to be a capable hauler -- whether it be for bringing kids back from college or making landfill runs. As you can see, I replaced my Silverado PU in 08 with a Suburban. The reason was that the Suburban was a better road vehicle for annual drives to Houston from Washington DC than the pick up since the bed was exposed. Additionally, with 3 very tall boys (all around 6 foot +) and their friends, additional seating was also required so that we would not have to take two vehicles on errands around town.

As far as features and comfort go, I have the base LS and am very happy. Even though it does not have leather or any of the options from the higher trim levels (it does have the advanced safety system), it has as standard equipment all of the options that my 08 1LT Suburban had.

The bottom line for your decision is (a) which vehicle will best meet your needs -- an SUV or Pickup? The second question -- and perhaps less important is which do you prefer, a Tahoe/Suburban or a Ford Pick Up? Both vehicles are quite capable and both Ford and GM have significantly stepped up their game.

I do not envy your position. I was there in 2008 and traded in a 3 month old pickup for a Suburban because I realized that the Silverado would not meet my needs as a people hauler for long trips like the Suburban would. Good luck!!
