im sure im not the only one that has done this but last night while driving around the streets of my town must have hit a huge pothole on the driver side of my yukon in an area of the street that has no lights so i just didnt see it until it was too late unfortunately. it was big enough to literally jerk my entire vehichle to the left and i was curious what i should check to make sure there is no damage or if anyone else thinks this could hurt the alignment or any other part of the suspension?... i was very very upset i know gmc makes a really good rig but if that dam pothole is big enough to pull a full size suv to the side then its definitely big enough the city needs to fix it!! it doenst help im super paranoid about my vehicles so just wanted to hear from the more experienced out there if i should be concerned.

You should probably at least get an alignment check.

Yeah potholes, heres my story... Day 1 on my BRAND new 26's a day i travel daily on, and I happened to be following the guy in front of me a bit to close then I usually do... Well I hit a huge pothole enough to save my rear wheel... So one of my wheels till this day has a huge bend in it, it threw out my alignment big time.... The guy that balanced it said that your lucky I was able to balance it enough so you can't feel any vibes. So till this day I ******* hate myself and I haven't fixed that wheel yet. I haven't had time to swing by any shops to see if they can fix it. Other then that I'll have to shell out 700 for a new rim, I seriously thought I blew out the tire and rim. Those Pirelli's aren't cheap.

My dad had 20's on his Quattroporte, they were the ********* wheels ever. They would get bent and he would have to take the car there probably every few months to send a wheel or two off. They would take the wheel and ship it off somewhere, and they would unbend it with some magic and send it back and it would be good as new. Want me to see if I can get the name of the place?

the alignment seems ok im going to have it checked tomorrow at the local shop... but the vehichle still seems to go straight for quite a way without me touching the wheel on the flat roads. im not too worried about the rim i have the factory wheels on there and the tires are only a few months old and are in great shape so not too worried about the rim no loss of pressure or anything ... damage to the actual tire and the alignment are my biggest concerns i went by the same spot and took a picture of the area and it seems to have been filled yesterday but was a pothole the night before when i hit it... if i have to get an alignment job can i get the city to pay for something like that or am i just SOL? ... any other thoughts on the issue would be greatly appreciated im just a super paranoid/ OCD kinda guy when it comes to my vehicles and i wanna make sure this thing stays in the best shape possible for as long as possible... =-(

I highly doubt the city would pay for it... You could give it a try but my guess is your SOL.
