Hey Guys,
So, I came home, cleaned up the connection, and messed with all the plugs. I put one of those eyelets on. The seat did move up once, but would not move again! When I started the car, it moved it down due to memory. I am at a loss here - what do you think? The module is working, do you think I need to clean all the connectors?

OKAY!!!! I GOT IT WORKING!!!! I DON'T KNOW HOW LOL, BUT IT IS WORKING!

Here is what I did: (cleaner = contact cleaner)

1. Re did the crappy ground.
2. Sprayed all connectors with cleaner several times.
3. wiggled all connectors
4. made sure red wire on front motor was in very good.
(still not working)
5. let it sit without the battery connected for 1 hour
6. Reconnected the battery, still not working
7. Took off switch panel and sprayed and worked connector
8. Sprayed circuit board of switches with cleaner
9. IT STARTED WORKING!!!!!!!!

THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH!!!!!!

Good job!

This makes absolute sense, though. The power mirror and other switches that aren't used so often, such as the seat adjuster switches, are known to develop or attract a funk over the contacting points because they're not used often enough to keep the contacts clean. My '02 S10 constantly had this problem with the mirror adjuster switches. I even had problems with the window and door plunger switches because it sat so much. A little vigorous pressing and wiggling of the switches fixed it every time. I fixed a buddy's window switches in his '08 Sierra a few weeks ago by popping off the covers and cleaning the contacts with a pencil eraser and electrical contact cleaner.

Now your seat works and you know that ground has been repaired properly and you did it yourself.

Best feeling too! I was about ready to send it to the electrical shop.
THANKS SO MUCH!

I am not receiving notifications of replied to comments, but to answer your question, you can simply pull the fuses and look at them through the side of them and you should be able to see the broken wire inside.

I remember when I worked at a dealership some time ago we had a lot of the Tahoes and suburbans come in with all types of strange problems with the power seats. It turned out that the memory seat modules would develop a brain fart. If your vehicle is subject to this problem, have the software version of the memory seat module checked and updated, this may solve your problems

This is a very good idea. I THINK, think, that a combination of my cleaning and letting it sit without a battery connection solved the problem. I would buy a new module but they are so expensive, I imagine programming and updating is not much cheaper. I have a feeling though when I go to recover the seat, leather is worn out, I will be buying one of these.:(

You can buy a very nice leather seat cover online for around $100.00 (new). It will not come with the memory seat module. Also, a used module will likely need to be programmed to match your options. A new module will require programming. I would recommend just the program update first before creating more problems with the attempted wiring repairs

I will have to look into this for sure. The garages I go to around here can get pricey. Right now the seat works which is good. :) Would love to recover it because it looks pretty nasty.

@shoplizard Where do you see seat covers for 100 bucks? I have seen them for like 175.00. Would love to find a more affordable solution! I appreciate the help!
