I am getting ready to start trying to find the Denali XL I want. I will have to keep everyone updated on how it goes. I'm going to start locally (South Carolina) then try to Costco route and also try Laura's GMC. I'm going pretty much loaded to the max I think so we'll see!

So, should I be looking at a lower price than Laura GMC?

I feel like a horrible negotiator begging my local dealer to match Laura's prices.....

Emailed my closest dealer....Note, I did add the $1K trade assist to get the $63,986. She claims they won't get 2015i for 3-6 months, wtf? Is this because they have no allocation? The other GMC dealer in town shows 2015i in transit on their website.

Here is the conversation:

Let me know when the 2015i models show up. Looking for a Denali w/ 8 speed with Open Road, 22".

They should be arriving anywhere from 3-6 months. If you want we can always order one exactly how you want so it will be one of the first to touch down on our lot. Is that something you would be interested in doing?

I'd be very tempted to order one if I could get the same pricing Laura GMC in St. Louis is advertising:

$63,986 for a 2015i Denali w/ Open Road, 22".

I have spoken to my New Car Manager and I have looked at the discounts Laura GMC Buick is offering and it shows a $1,000 discount for trade assist included in the eight thousand dollar discount. It will cost you roughly one thousand to fly out and drive back which will be cheaper then transporting to your location.

We would be happy to work with you on price to come to a reasonable agreement that will work for you and order you a new Yukon Denali. When can you come in, So we can get started and show you what we can do to earn your business.

My direct line is (719) ***-xxxx when is a good time to call you so we can set this up?

I walked into my local dealer and told them I would give them 9% off of MSRP. Plus any rebates that are available at the time I pick up my vehicle. They gave me all kinds of hell saying that was an impossible deal. We went back-and-forth I showed them the Laura Pricing etc. I told him I'd already negotiated a deal for 10% off on an Escalade. I stuck by my guns and offered to give them a $65,000 deposit and they took The deal. I have it all in writing from the owner of the dealership. I ordered it the way I wanted it and it should be here mid January. The MSRP was about 77,500 if I don't get any rebates my total is about 70,000

Not sure if used counts, but I just got my 15 4x4 LT with some additional options for $45k with 15K miles on it from a local dealer. It was their loaner vehicle...can't find a scratch on it, no wear inside. Dealer threw in a 75k miles bumper to bumper as well. It was the only way I was getting into a NNNBS anytime soon.

My local dealers don't seem to want to deal at all beyond supplier pricing given that they have to order the denali xl for me instead of finding one. Looking at 70,864 for a 76,190 msrp configured denali xl.

How are folks negotiating below supplier pricing? Also going the Costco route I'm told I won't get the $600 as it's based on delivery date which looks to be 6+ weeks out.

Any other options? I'm looking at a 15 Yukon denali xl with the open road and premium packages.

I was told the same about the 600 from Costco as I just ordered my Denali a few weeks ago. The program is only good until the end of the year. Costco may have another program just as good for next year.
You can try Truecar.com. The Denali I ordered was 74.6K MSRP.. Supplier was $69.4K Truecar came out at 68.5K. The dealer honored the Truecar price.

Nice job Jim, that's how it's done correctly where the dealer has only one sensible option. Either they accept the deal and make a few bucks, or have their ego cost them a sale.
