Any one do a retrofit? Im playing with a 3" regular projector that uses a H11 bulb. Fitment is not bad, just have to see what type of light out put I get.

Won't happen without SERIOUS modifications. So much that Serge (Soulsea) abandoned it after buying $500 projector lights, new set of foglights, etc. etc.

There is simply not enough room down there. There's been previous talk about it. I'll try to find it

Hmmm....Got one semi done.....

The projectors edges had to be trimmed to fit...but that was it. But I dont have a shroud yet. I have to measure what will fit to cover and will have to go from there.

ya know...Im not sure. There is a seal where the glass meets the metal, but other than that i dont see any way it is. Ill have to R&D that to see what may have to be done. The good thing is that if this does not work I can just put back my older fogs.

I wouldn't say you were semi done, i would say just starting, looks as though you have stuck an Bosch e46 projector in the fog light hole. Still have to weatherproof , set up an aiming system and the enclose and shroud them....and make all that look good. So a bit of work in front of you, It can be done but gonna involve a bit more work

Roy, does the e46 use a H11 bulb, is it a halogen projector?

Btw X2 on everything you just said + I'm not sure oem paint and clearcoat are going to be too happy about having the hottest part of the projector so close to them. I keep looking at this and trying to figure out how to shroud, cover, and protect the lens at the same time, whilst keeping the whole thing from looking like someone stuck two flashlights in their fog holes.

Nevertheless, I love and appreciate the fact that BP is trying this ... we need more hid pioneers.

Yep I agree on this. They both are in and I have light to them. Right now I have no shrouds and am just playing with them to see what type of heat im going to get. I can also see that I have to straighten out the drivers side a little bit. The passenger side is nice and straight.
I dont plan to upgrade to a HID bulb, and plan on keeping the whole tahoe ballast free. I do plan a projector retrofit in the headlamps, using the same type of projector. Im just waiting for a few parts yet to tackle that job.
All I want a little better light disbursement that what I have now.

The auction that I won stated Mercedes-BMW H11 Projector. So I dont know the original auto they came from.
