I don't think those rims would look good on that ride IMO

I was debating the same thing before I bought 4's for my denali. The biggest things i factored in was towing (yes i tow alot) and the truck stops good with 24's. 26's i would imagine would stop worse. Sidewall (305/35/24) I still have the ability to hop curbs and dont feel bad when I need to take my car off pavement onto "offroad" surfaces and last but not least sidewall protection. Knock on wood i havent had any issues with blowouts, bubbles in tires or bent rims.

Just some factors i thought about before i bought wheels for my 06 denali. The last 2 years it was at the stock ride height and last month I just bought tony's 2-3/4 drop and will hope the truck will look alot better with less gap

anything lower than a 45 series tire is an effective "rubberband" to me and not something that will protect any rim from any damage.... I am surprised you even dared take a 35 series off road....

I wouldn't go offroading in my 55 series Goodyears but thats me

I have never had a problem with 35 series tires.

I'm assuming that his reference to off-road being in quotes means he drove on some grass or maybe some light gravel or dirt. IMO a 35 series tire will be just fine in those situations and is not really off roading other than it's off the pavement. It's not like he is going through mud holes or trails where sidewall is crucial.

OP, I believe a good 35 series for what you're wanting to use it for will be just fine. :waytogo:

I would agree with you saying a 35 series is considered a rubberband, but its alot better then a 30 IMO.

And yes, "offroad" meant just going off paved surfaces. I had to pull my buddies f150 outta a mudhole one night that required me to do some light trail riding to access his truck in the NJ Pine barrens. Nothing outragous but at the same time I wouldnt have felt comfortable with a 30 series tires and 26's. Normal trips to the woods are anything but the norm for my truck but towing my atv's i often end up on grass, rocks, and other types of misc surfaces off road.

The truck looks very good with the 24's and cant wait until its dropped, I just feel like on the 00-06 body style you loose alot of practicality with 26's.
