Wanted to see if you guys could recommend some products to protect vehicles on this platform from Theft. I own a 03 Surbuban Z71 and it was stolen couple months ago. Fortunarely I was able to recover it but it wasn't cheap to repair the steering column. I never realize how popular these were to steal before I bought mine. I'm on a local Facebook page where people report their car thefts and its some many of 00-06 Tahoes, Suburbans, Silverados, H2, Escalades everything. Wanted to see if you guys have any product recommendations that achieve these ends. I saw these plates that go behind the door locks that looked useful but haven't been able to find them again.

yep drop about $1200.00 on one of these setups with 4g and mobile app and a couple extra sensors and you are golden
then you can start it with your phone, get texts, emails, and alerts if someone even touches it

Delete the guts on the door key holes. They will not be able to open it by popping the door handle..

Install a kill switch to the fuel pump.

An alarm will not always do much, but if you have one. You need to put a lock on the hood. The first thing a thief does is pop the hood and cut the wires to the alarm so no one can hear it.

I have all 3 of these items on my Yukon.

The rear hatch is another way they can access these vehicles. I'm still trying to figure out how address this acces point.

In the Houston area these suvs are stolen alot.

you must be talking about old-school alarms, new technology out there now, pop the hood on mine and it's already too late, pop the back hatch and also already too late, jack it up too late, tow it away too late. 4g, gps, sensors, hell I can add a sensor so if you even walk by it then it will go off but those are kind of annoying but it's a option. I could also add a battery backup to the 4g/gps under the dash so unless they have time on there hands it's not going to get away.
not saying anything is foolproof directed got hacked once and they fixed that loophole
one way would be if they had a cell signal jammer but it's not a 100k vehicle and the common thief just isn't that techy
that being said a simple RED led flashing on the dash will deter a common run of the mill thief which is typically some wayward teenager or drug addict.

Are we still using steering clubs? I’m sure they’re pickbale but thieves usually like an easy target not extra steps

Yep..... pulled my old one out after a couple of kids window shopped my rig one morning at about 3. I know a kid with a hack saw can get through it in about 20 seconds and even faster with a sawzall but its all about another layer of deterrent...the neighbors car is easier than this one"

You are right it's been that long since I had an alarm installed on my vehicles. I bet car alarms have a monthly monitoring fee now this days. Lol

the 4g/gps function does yes thru directed it's around $10 a month or just under that pre-paid 1-3 years the longer you pre-pay the better the deal. i don't mind it I got tired of my dvd systems being ripped out causing even more damage, broken window, $1000-3000 radio, speakers & amp gone, broken shifter that's another $500 repair. now that I installed the good alarm I haven't even had a broken window or lock popped

yep same for a vehicle that is visibly alarmed (led's on or flashing) in general they will just see that and move on, why risk triggering the alarm and risk getting caught or noticed when they can just walk away and go on to the next car.
