I recently purchased my son his first car and it's a 2012 PPV . 216k previous owner claimed the lifters have been changed, but im skeptical on that. Plans for the vehicle are add the foglights, change the radio, probably swap the wheels to 22in. And maybe change the front seats to match the rear.
I was reading through the sticky section and read some of the issues you guys have had purchasing PPV.
I've noticed one issue I have is the D/S rear door lock does not work with either the key fob or the door switch. I took the door panel off and can here the actuator trying to lo k and unlock but the lever doesn't move. Is there a gear inside that maybe strips out???

Also I want to add the rear hitch receiver, found 2 at the junk yard but those bolts just wouldn't come out. Was able to get some bolts out but the rest weren't going to come out without impact.

Does anyone if a 2018 rear bumper hitch will fit a 2012

Anyways here are a few pics...
The day we purchased it...All the extra wiring they left in the vehicle....Oh and I had to paint the roof because this is Florida and black cars don't last here...lol

Cool!

The fun part about old police vehicles is since they're cheaper you can do more with then as far as customizing or only adding in the options you want.

It sounds like the actuator is bad but make sure the lock moves freely by hand and nothing is loose or disconnected before replacing it.

You might want to to price out the cost of a new hitch. Sometimes you can get them for good deals and if you are towing heavy loads the factory ones usually only have a 5-6,000lb rating. If you're not towing heavy dont worry about it. It looks like you need a hitch from that generation according to compatibility from manufacturers.

Keep us (ME) posted on the progress of getting the fog lights working - I have an SSV and never found wiring in down at the mount holes. Could be I am tarded too so happy to have another person take a run at it.
