Question about 21 premier side view mirrors

The spec says that he side view mirrors are body color with chrome caps. Are the caps removable exposing the mirror to be the same color as the truck?

I certainly haven't tried to remove mine but I think the answer is no. I think the caps come in either chrome, painted same color as vehicle, or black. If you remove the chrome cap you will have to replace it with another is my understanding. This is all guessing on my part though.

Also, I wasn't a fan of the chrome caps when I bought mine but I do now appreciate how easy it is to clean bugs etc.off of them compared to painted mirrors I'm used to having on other vehicles.

This tracks with every GM vehicle I've been around, the caps are changeable but not stackable

I’ve never thought they were simply removable either BUT I’ve never read that they came body side colored with chrome caps either.
