There is also an autoparts store on there that is selling brand new OEM fans for the Tahoes/Yukons for $250 shipped, but that's just the fan assembly, you'd still need the harness and anything else needed to make them work. Is $250 good for the OEM fans though?

Jenna, I'm a little confused as to how your harness works. Does it plug into the PCM to control the fans? If so, since my truck has a mechanical fan, does the PCM need to be re-programmed to utilize the harness? Does the overdrive pulley have to be used, or is it optional?

Yes the harness plugs the fans in to the PCM just like the OEM ones on the 05+ vehicles. The PCM will need to have the PINs turned on for the fans to work.

We suggest the overdrive pulley to folks who are putting e-fans in a vehicle that did not come with them stock. This is because alternator is not the larger alternator that is now in the vehicles that come with fans stock. The pulley helps with idle amperage and such. They are also good for folks who have an upgraded aftermarket audio system, same concept.

i got the 165 deg thermostat and my temp gauge hangs out at 1/4... but when i idle for like 30 minutes it climbs and it once got up to halfway

then i just go around the block and it will drop back down pretty quick

I live in miami and its hot, dont have my e fans installed yet either...

Thanks Jenna. I'll try to stack my loot up this summer so I can get the fans purchased, then I'll have Justin turn the PINs on down in the springs this september if you guys end up coming out.

Atomic, those fans are nice because of the lower price, but they are used and out of a '99 truck...I dunno how well I trust 10 year old fans. I'd rather pay them extra money and get brand new OEM ones, personally.

That isn't a harness, just a bunch of resistors, so the fans will be on high all the time probably.

The OEM fans allow for both on high, both on low, one on high, one on low or both off. They turn on based on your speed and the temperature, so when you are on the highway (lots of cold air coming in), the fans will turn off, saving you the power.

Justin probably turned the pin on when he did your tune, and those are the same fans I bought for mine off ebay...wait a bit and he will sell them for $200 every once and awhile. Throttle response is vastly improved and the fans perform flawlessly in 100º heat...my a/c is fanfuckingtastic now too.
