I actually bought the FatMat 100sf kit. I didn't see the need to spend twice as much for basically the same thing. I know there are varying degrees of bad-assness with the DynaMat and the FatMAt, but I get the feeling now that I'm well on my way with the FatMat that I made the right choice.
I put everything back in, and it is a huge improvement regarding toning down the road noise. (and I have only done the rear section of the hoe) I need to complete the floor up front this weekend, and possibly do the doors. I am not expecting it to be a recording studio, I just want it to tone down the road noise and a bit of the exhaust drone.
Unfortunately, my Magnaflow exhaust is so F&%$ing loud, I'm probably going to have to get a resonator welded in to tone down its highway drone. I also have a K&N 77 Series intake up front, so the engine's loud as $hit too. I need to install the FatMat as far up the firewall as I can in the cabin. I DO NOT want to put this stuff in my engine bay. I don't think it would hold up under that kind of heat, and I don't want a piece of this falling off and landing on my exhaust manifold.
Understand that the noise does not bother me at all. M-F this is my daily driver, and I get on it every chance I can. I love the way it sounds and drives in WOT. On the weekends however, it becomes the family wagon and I just want it to be a little more comfortable for the passengers.
