I'm not doing it for a sound system. I have the stock Bose system, and I have no real intentions of adding anything to it any day soon. I just want it to be quieter in the cab.

I actually bought the FatMat 100sf kit. I didn't see the need to spend twice as much for basically the same thing. I know there are varying degrees of bad-assness with the DynaMat and the FatMAt, but I get the feeling now that I'm well on my way with the FatMat that I made the right choice.

I put everything back in, and it is a huge improvement regarding toning down the road noise. (and I have only done the rear section of the hoe) I need to complete the floor up front this weekend, and possibly do the doors. I am not expecting it to be a recording studio, I just want it to tone down the road noise and a bit of the exhaust drone.

Unfortunately, my Magnaflow exhaust is so F&%$ing loud, I'm probably going to have to get a resonator welded in to tone down its highway drone. I also have a K&N 77 Series intake up front, so the engine's loud as $hit too. I need to install the FatMat as far up the firewall as I can in the cabin. I DO NOT want to put this stuff in my engine bay. I don't think it would hold up under that kind of heat, and I don't want a piece of this falling off and landing on my exhaust manifold.

Understand that the noise does not bother me at all. M-F this is my daily driver, and I get on it every chance I can. I love the way it sounds and drives in WOT. On the weekends however, it becomes the family wagon and I just want it to be a little more comfortable for the passengers.

I'm not sure what the tempurature range for lizard skin is, but it might be worth a shot in the engine bay. Lizard skin is the spray/roll on sound control. www.lizardskin.com

Where did you get the 100 sf kit? That's quite a bit. I usually use second skin which is awesome!!! I would like to do some comparison price and performance wise. Can you hook me up with a link?

Here's where I got it from

http://www.fatmat.com/bulk/fatmat/100.html

Mine was 129.99 shipped

The roller tool supplied is fine, but you'll want to replace the rod in the roller with a piece of all thread and two nylon lock washers.
I also used an xacto knife, a hammer, and a squeegee for the application.

FatMat installed - 5 hours, or two Monday Night Football games back to back

I wrapped up the entire rear section, including the lift gate. I even removed my heat shield over the muffler, cleaned the top, and applied it there. I figure the exhaust is right under it, and it resonates... so it couldn't hurt.

I still have about 40 sqft left for the front section, which I hope to complete this weekend.
