New guy here, looking at buying my bosses 08 denali, has around 140k on it, ive never bought anything with this high miles (execpt my 5.9 grand cherokee but it was $750) hes had it a year or so, does regular oil changes, no major problems. has check engine light on (not sure why, will scan it when i can) and tire pressure light, we replaced the sensor but havent had it added into system yet. i also noticed the rear defroster wires hanging but i see from searching thats a common problem. What else should i look at or be worried about? hes wants $15k for it.

if the service suspension light isnt on thats good but there may be service issues with that soon enough. the air ride stuff wears out and can be expensive if you have it fixed at a dealer. Not so bad if you do it yourself. Front hubs would probably need to replaced soon if they havent been already. Other then that those trucks can go alot of miles with not much to worry about except for electronics crapping out, sometimes. My 04 denali made it 240k and was still going strong with no problems when I sold it.

i dont think it has rear air ride, unless they all came with it? I searched on one of those car finding websites and for around that mileage they seem to be 18k ish figure they will knock a few grand off at a dealer thats why i thought 15 is a ok price.

pretty sure all denali's have the air ride. easy way to check is to look behind the drivers side rear tire and see if there is a box looking thing with small hoses coming out of it going into the rear air shocks.

well i dont have cash and its my boss who is cheap and the kind of person that wouldnt sell it and let it sit if he doesnt get his price, i looked at lower mileage ones but they are more than i want to spend. im trying to get into something that can tow my camper better than my current jeeps and has room for the whole family and this seems to fit the bill perfect, plenty of power, kinda high end for back then, and if my budget is 15k im not finding other vehicles that will work for what im needing, i am a little worried about the mileage but my grand has 168k on it and besides some stupid little stuff its strong.
now are we talking about rear air ride like some of the H2's have or air shocks? im getting confused if its airbags or air shocks

the denali's have magnetic dampening shocks in the front which are computer controlled and air shocks in the back which are computer controlled with a small air compressor behind the driver side rear tire. Not sure what air bags are other then the ones that protect you in a crash lol. I'm not saying the suspension system is something I would worry about just that they dont last forever and when it fails there will be an annoying dash light everytime you start it. There are expensive ways to fix the system and then cheaper alternatives. Its not a big deal, just something to keep in mind with an older truck. If the truck meets your needs and you think its a good deal, go for it. By the way I just payed $25k for my 09 yukon with 100K miles on it with no worries at all. I know it will last, and if it doesnt then i'll have to fix it and drown my sorrows in beer :)
