Can I use regular size yukon rotors or do I have to get the 13 inch rotors

You need new rotors to match the NNBS calipers to do the conversion. That link spells it all out for you.

Ive been away for awhile dealing with family needs but I am back! Logged in and 37 pages of new post!!!

My truck has hydraboost and to me its always felt weak and seemed like I would never get it stopped in panic situations, looked into big brake kits but...they go for big bucks! $1500-5K! Upgrading to 07 and up front brakes have been mentioned before in other post, and someone awhile back even tried to charge for part numbers! mad.gif

Finally I have accumulated all the parts to convert my 04 to GMT900 front brake's the 07 and up GM trucks use a 13 inch rotor and a larger caliper, the older trucks use a 12 inch rotor. Its a very simple mod and the results are AMAZING! Everything is direct bolt on with no modification needed. I used GM PPV Brake calipers, Performance Friction Z rated brake pads, and Centric slotted rotors. The origanal plan was to use Durastop slotted rotors but it appears that GM does not make slotted rotors for the 07 and up trucks. Total cost was around $450. Ive driven a Escalade with Baer brakes on the front and rear and the GMT900 brakes work just as good if not better than a big brake kit! The idea of painted calipers (Chevy Orange) sounded good but if I did it again I would leave them unpainted.

BTW can I use the stock 12 inch rotor or do I have to use 13 or is stock 13

You can NOT use your current stock NBS 12" rotors for the conversion. The whole point of this conversion is so that you CAN use the stock 13" rotors from the NNBS.

They are still a factory replacement rotor, you simply need the model number from the NNBS.

I'm not sure how to answer the question anymore clearly than that. If you want to use 12" rotors for some reason you need to keep your current calipers and NOT do this conversion.

Does anyone know if there is a similar upgrade for the 3/4 ton Yukon's using the 07+ 3/4 ton setups?
Can't say if the callipers would be any better but the rotors themselves are the same diameter.

Go with GMT 900 fronts I got mine from a pic a part for $38.50 less the rotors/pads. Just got the best rotors/pads AutoZone had $100 and couldn't be more happy.

I wanted too. 2 pick and pulls in houston had nothing. Wound up buying some R1s. Gonna try to get them on this weekend
