I wanted to make this neater than a 12 v outlet cord, and at the same time, have the function of the smart cord controls without having to reach/look near the rear view mirror.

Cord starts at redline ex, then is hidden by headliner, goes down A pillar, then across to access below center AC controls.

Dremel the hole, and made a small l shaped bracket to attach to the bottom of the control unit, and then secured by the 2 screws visible under the control unit.

Other than darkening the blue LED with a sharpie, it is finished.

Smart thinkin'


I dimmed mine by taking the remote apart a putting a piece of colored tape on the inside. A nice "clean" look.

I guess I should have read more about it first. It seems others have changed the diode for the blue led. It’s not the hard to remove now that I know what’s involved.
