Twin 7s would introduce weird harmonics that's why they used 7 and 9. Any part numbers on the motors?

I know for sure the 700 watt motors are 15780795 (Left) and 15780596 (Right).

Wes is a good source of info about radiators, some of them are lacking the factory restriction and cause cooling issues.

Stick with OE parts unless you know who their supplier is, there's usually none better.

I will look later today at the fan motors closely.. I don't believe they are GM ..

Mike, after listening to your vids... I don't think mine were ever that loud..
Although I don't know if they ever went into the HI speed.
I don't have any weird vibrations or harmonics at all. When I spin them
by hand, they seem ok too

The first design was 2005-2011with rimmed blades had all sorts of different options it seems. The second mid 2011-2014 designlllwith non rimmed blades only came 2 ways... Dual 500w or dual 700w which was K5L. Not sure if the second design shrouds are different between 500w or 700w, they do have different part numbers though.

Found some info on GM Parts: 15780793 shows RIGHT 7 Blade
15780794 shows LEFT 9 Blade
With heavy duty cooling and trailer packages...
So, I'm thinkin there's been some tinkering with this SUV.
The fans have seemed to work fine, but I'm putting in a new radiator and my
Edelbrock supercharger, so I want everything to be "right" and working to it's best
capabilities.
What to do ???

the shrouds would have to be different the motors are bigger and configured different than the 500w, I had the dual 5 blade 500w in my yukon, when I bought the 700w motors I checked to see if I could just swap stuff, none of it fits in the shroud at all.

Does the 7/9 700 watts make a big difference? I am experiencing high coolant & trans temps while towing with the stock 5/7. Have a new external transmission cooler to install. Thinks of doing the fan upgrade at the same time.

Sure does! Sure you don't have them already? What are your "K" RPO codes?

How about a Dorman 620-654?

Well, their application guide says it will work. I'm just not a fan of most Dorman parts. I prefer GM Original Equipment whenever possible or AC Delco Professional. Sometimes we get lucky and can buy from the OE supplier to save a few bucks.

Reviews on Amazon are mostly positive, especially from people replacing the originals and they commented a year later so that is good to know. Some complaints from years ago about poor motor quality which translated to excessive amperage draw and burned up wiring and relays.

I don't think my 700 watt fans use 30 amps each as the battery is only rated for a 70 amp draw. But then again, 700 watts at 12.6 volts is over 55 amps each! I know enough about electricity to start fires and that's about it! Maybe someone with electrical wisdom will chime in.
