welp.... i still suck at welding but with the gas its 10x better looking. still blaming the welder, trying to "dab" weld the pipes, got the temp (voltage) up as far as itll go and it just wont lay em flat. feed is inconsistant...fairly certain it wont leak so some exhaust wrap should make all the ugly go away :anitoof:

.030 iirc

i ordered some tube and flanges to make up the waste gates, so going to give it another go

if i held the puddle any longer it just wanted to (and a time or two did) blow thru - i had the shielding gas at like 15psi - not sure if i should try bumping it up

Go down on your wire size. Try a .023

You'll probably need turn the heat down a little bit. The shielding gas psi could stand to come down, IMO. As long as you're not going any holes in the weld, its good. So lower the gas until you start getting porosity, then turn it up until you don't. I don't think it hurts anything having it up higher, just a waste of product. These steps should help you with the weld "roll under" (looks like a mushroom).

I'm sure you know but if not, you'll need to change the roller on the wire feeder in the machine, as well as the tip.

i had to flip the roller to run the .030 (big side wouldnt grab, small side was all the way loose...so pretty sure this pos should be able to run .023 i'll see if i can fine some, not sure what tips ive got around either

ordered both.... the smaller wire may be the ticket - should let me puddle without piling up the wire
