My only question is would the bearings in the alternator support a stretch belt?

a smaller what- alternator? prob is im adding abunch of electric crap lol, was prob going to get a higher amp one in the same case eventually

with the bracket how it should be and shortest belt possible it would distort the boot all the time but i think the shaft would still spin, could prob run it like that with no boot and be ok

ya one with a smaller case, didn't know you were adding electrical stuff though, the oem one on my 18 silverado has a fairly small case and it's still 160amp but I took it off and put on a 240amp.
maybe you can modify the bracket to bring it in closer to the engine cant really see how much room you have to work with. I wonder if one off of a corvette or a sedan would be smaller?

the bracket is made to hinge out to put tension on the belt, the above picture i have it solidly mounted to two holes on the block (the bracket is still there because it's needed to get the correct spacing to line up with the crank pulley). it's tucked up tight to the block where its at and everything clears, if i stretch belt works then i'm done. i've found a few that should work i just dont know what the sizing works so i need to grab and see if i need more or less.

electric water pump and power steering pump being added
