Rear defrost problem

I have an 07 suburban and on the rear glass on passenger side where the wire connects to the glass it has broken off. Can I just solder that back on? Or do I have to replace the glass?

I had that happen to me once, I took it to my local windshield shop, and they had a metallic adhesive, and stuck it back on. He said that he couldn't guarantee that it would work, but would be better to try than buy a new back glass. I had only 1 of the wires that runs through the glass not work...........I decided that I could live with that, as a new back glass was like 400 bucks.

Yeah I'm gonna wait for warmer weather to try an re weld it. I'll just deal with it not working if I have to unless I find a good deal on new glass

Yeah, old thread.
But, I had to fix ours also.
I bought a kit made by permatex. They offer 2 kits. https://www.permatex.com/product-category/specialized-maintenance-repair/defogger-repair/
So far, seems to be holding up.

You can't exactly use a higher heat solder, you may Crack the glass. Which is pretty easy to do. Lol
