I removed my tray today in my xl. Wife kept complaining about things falling out when the cargo door was opened after shopping trips. She's only 5'3" so opening the glass first to sort things out can be a chore. Bought a mat from Menards and cut it to fit perfectly. This mat has a rubber bottom so it doesn't shift around and protects from spills if it ever occurs.

Cargo net could help too. You have attachment points on both sides of the opening.

i never had anything try to roll out.
but i did have stuff shift around...due to the way i drive ;)

cargo net was useless for me, so i got the stayhold cargo organizers from amazon. they have velcro on bottom. so i just position them where stuff is & it keeps all my stuff in place

We picked up 4 of these Instacrates at Costco a few weeks ago for about $7 each and they work great in our cargo area. They stack nicely when collapsed and don't slide around at all. They are easy to open up and fill with whatever you need to, so far we've mostly used them for grocery bags, but I also put a propane tank in one when I went to fill it so it wouldn't slide around. My wife and I are extremely happy with this purchase and will probably pick up a couple more just because they're so great.

use a Milk Crate for Propane tanks. works great, plus some tanks rust & get a razor sharp edge on the bottom :(

Do you have a similar pic with the 3rd row folded. I'm curious how "raised" the seat back is from the rear floor bottom.

Sorry don't have a pic. But if you own the vehicle only takes 2 minutes to find out. I think the seats are raised up a good 6-10". I need those seats up so have only folded them down once.
