They added that inner foam rod as part of a TSB to correct, of all damn things, water leakage.

Isn’t it iiironic, don’t you think…


The last sets that I bought (both LMC and GM) had it in there with paint marks noting the location. I’ve thought about taking them out for the same reason that you mention.

update to my last post. I investigated my last comments and it didnt help. I adjusted the striker/latch and that helped some to pull it closer. but in the end i got fed up and did what you did with some RVT sealant

Do your body panel seams look like the ones in the pictures that I posted of mine?
