Im in the process of upgrading all the speaker in my truck. I have replacements for all the doors and the factor sub. My problem is I cant seem to find any speakers that will fit in the rear piller area.

Has anyone ever changed them and what would be a good replacement without to much modifaction to the trim panel.

Personally I would just delete them and purchase a better front and rear door speaker

You can put in 3.5 Speakers, or you can cut and mount through the outside which looks better. 3.5 to 4" speakers or bullet horn tweeters

yeaa I gotta agree. Im in the same build process, and im either going with some kicker CS 3.5s in those rear pillars...or deleting them, and going with a component set and just relocating the tweeters.. All are good ideas, Id say go with whatever balances your system out and gets you the sound youre looking for. Im gonna have plenty of bass so Im looking to make them push out more mid/highs to balance out the sound. Update once you choose/ install whatever. Im curious to know how it turns out

Just a small update, I replaced the all the doors with and the factory sub. I took your guys advice and decided to delete the rear piller speakers.

A shot of fitting the amps under the rear seat.

Did you do the amp bypass for the door speakers? If so, did you delete the amp and rear pillars? I did bypass of the factory amp and it gives door speaker FULL range (like the silverados have) instead of the limited that tahoes run. And I didnt run the jumper wire so my rear sub and rear pillars get nothing from my aftermarket headunit. Took all of 10 mins to make the harness and the sound quality is 10X better. I love it!

Those rockford prime amps, pure greatness. I have run them on all my setups as of late and they never dissapoint. Amazing value! Goodluck with build.

I removed the factory amp and put the crossovers for the front components on the bracket that amp was held on. I left the rear pillar speakers in there just unhooked.

I'm still a few days away from finishing still have to modify the dash as per the sticky so I can put a dd pioneer in. I can't wait to try everything its going to be leaps and bounds over stock.
