Thanks Big Mama, I agree with you that the original setup is sweet! The price for just the ALC shocks is too much, I'm not interested in the cheap eBay shocks.

That’s a good decision. You might check the classified section here for someone that removed theirs.

You can buy the OEM shocks new from Rock Auto for $235 each. I wouldn't delete the system especially if you tow plus it rides so much better.

I have a 07 burban LTZ with air suspension with 200K miles and same issue.

I just clicked ebay "buy it now" on these bad boys on ebay for $112 after tax and free shipping. No need to mess with replacing rear springs lol. If ebay seller plays by book, they should be at my door in Dallas on Monday

Can't wait to remove the original 13 year old/200K mile factory rear shocks from my burban lol

Those look like knockoff monroe load leveler shocks. I know that people have run those and they eventually squeak when the spring rubs the shock body.

I'd get bilsteins and replace the springs (super easy to do in the rear) if I were deleting the autolevel airride system in the rear. Probably run you in the area of ~$220

On my old denali xl I ran moog 80169 springs with a coil cut off and bilsteins and the ride was good. (stiffer)

Me Too! Definitely post some before and after pics with your new shocks.

I did order the Bilstein 4600 with Airlift 1000 bags. Rebuilding the front struts should be FUN! I'll try to remember to get some pics.
That is a good solution.
