This part of the armrest was loose when I bought it a year ago. Did a quick duct tape to avoid any further damage. Is there any way to reattach this part before I re-tape it. Could not find anything on YouTube

Is it a tab, clip or something broken off there?

Replacements (new and used) are readily available and don't seem to cost that much.

If you don't want to buy a replacement and don't want to do anything to alter what remains, so you can replace the part someday... Then I might suggest a bead of clear silicone sealer to act as glue to hold it in place. GE silicone for doors and windows is really strong. You would actually have to be careful trying to pull the pieces apart in order to not crack or break what is being held together. At least the silicone is a reversible option to secure things.

The door panel will need to come off to inspect the attachment (or lack therof) on the backside. Those bezels have a clip at the rear and a screw at the front to attach to the panel. They do not just pry up; doing that will break off the screw attachment. Bet the rear clip is missing or the female opening on the door panel is broken. Hopefully you can repair, but replacement bezels are available.

Why couldn't the engineers put another retainer clip on the front instead of a screw?

Would have been nice, if it could simply pop out by prying on front and back edges and not have to remove the door panel...

I guess they can't make everything perfect.
