remanufactured engine or rebuild mine/cam?

got my head off my lmtd hoe today blew a head gasket so now im just thinking about a new motor from Chevy since mine did have over 200k miles or rebuild mine and getting a RV cam what do you guys think would be better? or what cam would you guys recommend ?

I'm a fan of rebuilding when you can. You don't say what year it is but if it's pre 96 and has roller provisions in the block I would rebuild it using a roller cam that your tuner can work with.

This is a 96+block since its a LIMITED... I just spent $600-$700 on new parts to rebuild mine plus another $700 on new heads... Blown head gasket lead to crackd head... With 175K at the time of rebuild and 180 k now shes running like a champ again... I think it comes down to wat u can afford to do... I new engine at the time I priced it was around $2000ish....

thanks for the info guys and yeah i just called down to my local Chevy dealer and got a price around 1800 for a long block

whoops forgot to mention that its 2000 but its still a 92-99 body style 350 vortec

92-95 had a Non Vortec TBI, non roller factory setup, 96+ was Vortec headed CPI with a factory roller, thus my post.
