Finally time for a short vacation. Best friend’s little brother is getting married this week in Utah. Parents had their Cessna 414 pick us up from big bear this morning! Pretty awesome to get to fly private!!

Made a short stop at Mojave air and space port to pick up one of the grandparents. The aviation geek in me was ecstatic because many of the recently retired 747s are stored here. But one very special plane, was here and I got to see her up close and personal! QANTAS 747 VH-OEJ, the last of the Qantas 747 fleet to be retired, is here. I flew on this very aircraft from LAX- Sydney to visit my uncle that was living in Sydney back in 2006. She was painted in the wanula dreaming livery back then when I flew on her. It was my first international flight as well as my first 747 flight. Hopefully not the last! Anyways I got some cool shots as we taxied past her on the tarmac.

Wedding was a blast. Utah governor decided Tuesday that the state should be in threat level red for Covid so everyone had their panties in a twist about wearing masks. So dumb. the only thing that sucked was that the venue was being mask nazis and the owner was quite disrespectful with telling people to have their masks on. Other than that it was a great night at a beautiful venue called loghaven, a high end restaurant in the hills up above salt lake City. Really gorgeous venue. The water falls on the property were spectacular!

Yesterday was a really fun day. The family had some stuff to square away with finalizing everything and checking g out of the Airbnb they rented for the bridal party. So uberEd down to SLC airport and picked up a rental, and wouldnt ya know I got a tahoe LT for the day. Took off and headed up to Snowbasin ski resort about 45 minutes north. I ended up hiking around the ski area for a couple of hours! It was a beautiful area! Lots of trails.this was one my way to the Snowbasin area:
