04 denali, replaced with the bilstein shock package. Rode ok but not like when it was new. Now it rides like total shit. Not sure what could be causing this. Any ideas.:hmmm2:

yeah I replaced the rear springs but its almost all in the front that I notice it. Could I need new ball joints? I've had some steering components replaced a few months ago and new hubs/bearings but noone mentioned bad ball joints. I did the shocks myself as none of the shops would replace the factory autoride shocks with anything different.

honestly it rides the shocks are blown, kinda like my old ones were. Numerous times ive felt the abs kick in when stopping because i think the wheel left the road after hitting a bump. I'm mostly a highway driver, never do any off roading or anything like that. Some of the roads here in michigan are pretty rough and lots of potholes though. Just no idea whats going on. This thing used to sail over bumps and ride like a cadillac, now it rides like a 89 chevy 1/2 that was rode hard all its life! LOL

I replaced all four shocks and the rear springs. Its a kit you can buy from bilstien to replace the autoride system shocks. Maybe it is that it just rides real tight and hard, idk, i just know i dont like it. May be time to sell and upgrade to a newer denali.

So you swapped your air shocks for regular shocks? I thought the autoride system was supposed to have the best ride quality?

Not that familiar with the newer body styles, but are the Bilsteins a larger than stock shock?

Has your ride gone to feeling more "truck-like"? Are you getting a feeling like something is indeed loose, like wheels rattling around when you hit bumps? In other words, your front is not feeling "tight"?

Could be things then like ball joints, or tie rod ends.

Maybe an obvious dumb question, but what kind of pressures are you running in your tires? Also, are the tires in good shape, no balance issues?
