Ok, the time has come to put a new heart in the suburban. I think I talked myself out of a Jasper motor. Not going with a 383 either. We are going to put a stock (new) replacement in soon.

Can someone double check me here?

L31 vortec, GM part number 12530283. Does that seem right? I have a feeling I'm looking at the wrong motor. I thought when I reserched this last the part number was different.

Why not go with a Jasper? They have the same warranty as a factory replacement motor. The best part is if the motor fails and needs replacing they cover the cost and will tow to nearest Jasper dealer for replacement. Can't get that with any other motors. I'm 5k miles into my Jasper motor and it's working great.

unknown at this time.
the 83 model is meant for:

1996-2000 Chevy/GMC Full Size Trucks
1996-2002 "G" Van, Savannah, Express Vans
1996-1999 "P" Vans- Over 8,600 GVW

the 82 model that ceej posted should be for the Suburban.
