Do i need to replace the plenum gaskets or any other gaskets when I take it off to get to the FPR? I just have enough to buy the regulator this week and want to do this cheap as possible. If i need to replace those gaskets when i take it off I will wait until i get more money if I have to.

thanks

I got the regulator in the mail today from RockAuto a Delphi unit. I'm somewhat disappointed because it says MADE IN CHINA on the box:disgust: If I would have know that I would have just bought one at the parts store since they sell all china crap. At least it's an OE part.

I also picked up a FelPro plenum gasket set. There is a lot to take apart I'm not going to half ass it and try to reuse old gaskets and have a vacuum leak Ill do it right.

I'm also going to try the fuel filter replacement again. I couldn't get the front line off and stripped it out with vise grips. So I'm going to disconnect the fuel line at the flex line behind the motor and take the filter out with the steel line attached. Then I can work on it on the bench to remove the filter.

Not looking forward to all this work tomorrow but I will be sooooo happy with how much better it will run HOPEFULLy.

Hopefully it will get rid of the p0172 p0175 and p0300 codes. I'm 99% sure it will.

You can smell the gas and hear the vapor spitting out of the exhaust when it drives. Also the oil has fuel in it. I changed the oil when I first bought it with this condition and about a week later it's almost black.

So I will change the oil tommorow too or the next day. I know fuel in the oil will wear out engine parts.

unknown at this time.
Not everything made in china is crap. It really depends on the quality that the company wants is willing to be paid for. It is still cheaper then building here for the most part.

how are you going to put a new fuel filter on a stripped line?
