Alright guys, in a couple days I will be ordering shocks. I have a couple questions though. I think I will be going with the edelbrock IAS and wanted to see if 1) someone had a better shock in mind and 2) what you guys think of replacing the bushings on my sway bars and such? Any input would be GREAT.

I'll go ahead and ask, why edelbrocks? are you trying to keep a factory like ride, a firmer ride or a softer ride? what's your budget? As for replacing bushings, if you get under there and they look worn, i'd recommend some energy suspension bushings.

Thanks. The bushings do look worn, some even appear to be falling apart. On to the edelbrocks. I have chosen them because I have heard good things about the IAS series they have. Also I found the shocks for about $63 a piece for the back and $87 for the front and that didn't seem too terrible. I'm open to suggestions on the shocks though. I haven't been through many.

I wish I could be of more help Jonathan. I wanted to firm up the ride in mine, so I chose the Bilsteins. I don't have any experience with other shocks so I can't make other suggestions.

Thanks man, I was looking at cost and I might end up just ordering the leveling kit with shocks from Tony. Just need to decide if I can spend the extra money.

i just replaced the shocks on my 03 tahoe with rancho 5000 series currently on sale thru 4 wheels parts wholesale and am happy, definitely firmer than stock but not too stiff. i've used these shocks for years on all of my trucks and have never had a problem

May I ask where you are getting ias shocks for that cheap

They were on amazon. They have jumped back up over $100 a piece now though. Wish I would have just jumped on it while they were so low. Ended up going with the factory ac delco shocks.
