Resolved - Rear wiper arm quit - help with removal

Title says it all

This is what is left - which I believe to be part of the old wiper assembly. Do I need to get the nut thing off to get to the splines to install the new wiper? 2013 Yukon XL if that matters

Yes. If you don’t have a puller that fits/works, I’d take a dremel and cut the length of the “nut” on 180° from each other so you can remove it.

HUUUGE! Ended up using an oscillating multitool with a metal blade and some patience not to knick the threads. Worked wonders, thanks for the recommendation! IMG_9024.jpeg

Yep, I had to use a puller to remove mine the first time. Clean up that spline and lube well with silicon grease before attaching the new wiper blade, and you'll never have to cut it off again.
