"Harsh" depends on what you are use too, just like exhaust tones. If you are use to factory "non-sport" vehicles and you have terrible, non-smooth roads, then moving to a 22 with might feel "harsh" to you.
Me, I'm from a modded chevy family where all the men drive 60's, 70's trucks with 30 yr old heated springs, hitting bump stops, 6" wide wheels in the front, 383 stroker/400ci huge cam small blocks, 90's silvys with 4/6 drops and 2 chamber flow master exhaust, so any thing is smooth and quiet compared to that.
If you ahe moving from 20 to 22's, you will probably feel more of the road and your butt meter may see that as more harsh.
I like the firmness ( 305/35/24 on my 07) as im use to being low and not being so disconnected with the road.
