Hey guys,

I was gonna replace my center link last night and after I got the old one off, I found out the new one I got from the store was about 6 inches too short. Called all around town, and guess what? No one else stocks them. Story of my life!

After I put everything back together and got my money back, I started trying to look up the specs. What's on the truck now is 31" long with 5" between holes from the tie-rod to pitman arm (center to center). From what I can find on the net, replacements are still too short.

Am I measuring the length wrong? I can't imagine that I don't know how to read a tape measure. It's just a steel bar, not one of my private parts, so why would I over estimate it? :hands:

Any help?

And I don't want to know how long yours is!!! I don't swing that way! :supergay:

unknown at this time.
The moog ds1407 for 4x4 is listed as 28.5 length. They are $60 and are available all over the U.S.. $45 at amazon. Perhaps the wrong on was installed previously?

I've got a similar issue with my 99 4x4 Tahoe.
The old center link is ~31" (end to end) and the new one is 25"
Old one has 5" centers (tie rod to pitman/idler) and the new one is ~3".

The part number for the new, shorter one is DS1407.

I reckon I could adjust the tie rods out to bolt it in, but don't know the impact to the idler and pittman arms as they will be at a different (narrower) angle.
