Pretty sure @Doubeleive has said it takes a certain number of either drive cycles or key starts....? For them to show ready.
Nice rims. They look 1,000 times better. You could always change the center cap.
I may just put Nissan badges on the rest of the vehicle, and call it good.

I’m gonna drive El Turdo to work tomorrow (yes, I don’t have a tag- and no, it’s insured. good enough). Maybe that’ll be enough key start/ heat up/ cool down/ miles to get all the systems ready to rumble.

Those Nissan wheels look good! Always love a good color contrast between the body of the truck and the wheel! If the Chevy bow tie caps don’t fit those wheels you could always get the right sized cap for those wheels in a blank and have bow ties made up in commercial grade vinyl. That’s how I have Denali logoed center caps.
I appreciate the complement and the tip! The Nissan part will actually pop off of these center caps, but then they look a little unfinished. I might could 3D print a replacement… hmmm

There's a guy on FB that creates custom stickers for cars. I ran into him because he is able to make really nice replicas of some of the OEM badging (Quadrasteer in my case). He isn't cheap, but he isn't too expensive. I can connect you, if you like. Otherwise I suggest you remove the Nissan badging and add the turd emoji: :poop:

@05Single had some Nissan rims on his Tahoe too. He was able to make some homemade center caps out of reflectors.
I do like the tbird idea tho.

Evap crap…

Popped a P0446 code driving to work. Watched some videos on troubleshooting the evap system, which were great! But… I don’t have a fancy tool to look at all the data and whatnot.
So, I did what any normal person would do and stated disconnecting hoses and blowing through em!

The charcoal can seems to flow ok, and no gas in it. I also removed the vent valve and purge valve and tested them with 12v, and they’re both operating fine.

I did find a manual valve on the line coming to the purge valve was loose (open to atmosphere) :doh2:
So I closed it. Maybe that was the problem all along. Assuming the compooters are doing right, everything else seems ok.

Also!! I got a lead on a parts vehicle. Another white 2002 suburban (2wd though) with a blown motor. The dude said he’d take $1000…. Maybe that’s his negotiation starting price??
It would beat having to go to LKQ whenever I need something. Especially if I smash into something (I don’t pay for collision insurance, liability and comprehensive only).
Is it worth it? What’s the going price for a complete parts car?

Even if the motor is bad, by the way, how do you know it is? The motor may be ok and an idiot said different. The $1000 or less, is a great price IMO, if you have the room for it.

Well, the owner said there’s a hole in the side of the block from where it threw a rod
If nobody buys it he’s gonna donate it to the local fire department to practice with… maybe I give it a few days and make a counter offer.

:banghead: You said guy said a "blown engine" but nothing about a hole in the block till I questioned whether the owner knew what he was talking about. Please share in the beginning what he said about the hole in block. :banghead:

Depends on the condition of the "rest" of the vehicle if worth the $1000
