The old version has a pcv valve that sits in a big rubber grommet in the rear of the driver side valve cover that you can remove with your fingers that the hose connects to. The newer style just has a nipple on the valve cover to connect the hose to. Here's the old style. The pcv valve is attached to the hose on the right, removed from the valve cover. How can you tell if you have the newer version? I have an 04 but built in 09/03.
Good luck Red, I hope you get every penny out of them! They have no problem taking premiums for years, but the first time you make a claim, they make it hard as hell for you!Ordered some nice billet coil brackets today. Also, nothing to do with The Beast but I've been fighting with Allstate about what they're going to pay me for my bagger. I had over $42k invested plus my time since I built it myself. First they offered 21k and wanted 3k for me to buy it back. I bitched and they came back with the news that since it was going through my uninsured motorist policy they could pay for all the custom parts. They offered 27k but increased buyback to 8k. Today I told them I was going to have it appraised and they said ok, but they would also do the same and they would both talk and come to a middle ground. Then they asked who I was using and come to find out it's the same company they use so they said they'd probably just use his figure. I talked to the guy and it sounds like I might do real good, he is going to make sure I get replacement cost at minimum and possibly more, maybe close to $50k. I gave him receipts totaling $22k plus the cost of a '14 Street Glide adds up to about $42k plus he said labor for the build needs to be figured in. Yay. Fingers crossed.
