I had a similar issue of burning wires because of my headers. I have those heat boots/socks too, supposed to be rated up to 900 degrees, but still burned. I bought Taylor racing wires, which have the shorter angled boots. Those along with some zip ties have fixed the problem for me.
Got the Taylor part number?

Oh yeah me too. My shoulder's been bothering me for the last week too and I think I'm going to get some arthroscopic surgery on it so I really wasn't looking forward to the twisting and manipulating to get to some of those bolts. Huge relief, let me tell you.

Damn Red glad u got it figured out. I run those same insulators/sleeves only with Taylor wires like @Tonyrodz..only mine are red lol.. My headers are coated, but I need to pull the plug wires and check them. Stock plug wires don't fit right with headers. I bet your fuel mileage goes up now the cylinders are firing right again.
