Theres a seal.

@Rocket Man what I meant was I couldnt get them to seat correctly. Yes they fit however it was hard to get the bulb aligned. Check this thread out.

The motoholder made it difficult for me to move the bulb around so that I'd get the proper hot spot.

If you move the bulb in the motoholders there is a slight amount of movement. Thst will throw the hotspot off, which in turn throws the cutoff out of alignment

Yea doesn’t take much , fraction of a fraction of an inch and theres a huge difference in output.
And I guess I’m just use to a rubber seal on generic lights like 9005s and 9006s. H1 has no seal

Well the brackets came today but I spent all day installing new compressors on the Silverado. Might do it tomorrow.

Yea doesn’t take much , fraction of a fraction of an inch and theres a huge difference in output.

I just checked them again and they’re tight, no movement. They worked awesome in the Silverado retrofit. Same projectors, bulbs and motoholders. I’m not worried.

The adventure begins. Here's the headlights... and second pic is the back. I took a look before starting and it looked like the brackets would fit, so next I removed the adjusting assembly. Man it looked like this was gonna be soooo easy, 2 screws to remove the projectors but then what was that grey stuff oozing out from around them? Hoped it was silicone but nope, it was some of that permaseal or whatever that stuff is that's really hard to get apart. I started using my best razor knife and some new blades, cut a little until I could get something in to pry. I tried a heat gun and it helped a bit but pretty much just had to muscle through it. My arms were sore after the first one.

Then I checked the bracket for a fit (whew) cleaned up the mounting surface and tried the Morimoto's. They didn't quite fit until I trimmed a bit inside the headlight with an angle grinder. The holes in the mini h1's were the perfect size for a 10-32 tap and then I bought some allen head button top screws to attach the projectors to the brackets. I used some black RTV and mounted the projectors. So far so good, waiting for things to dry before proceeding.

Good thing nothing cracked or broke while prying it apart.

Thanks. I got them back in, testing passed. High beam shutters are working too so they open up for a great 4 high. Now gotta wait until dark for aiming and night shots.
