Just two. The 98 part number. Should be around $20 for a pair. Check eBay

edit. I didn't read very well. I've never had an issue with the downshift stuff. There is another solenoid for that and one to lock up tcc. Usually it's just the two I mentioned that fail. Should throw a code IIRC
Well my issue is with the 3-2 downshift, P0785, 3-2 shift solenoid electrical malfunction. I’m thinking I’ll replace all of them with OE. So maybe @915_Tahoe can help me with part numbers so I’m not guessing. How many shift solenoids do I have and part numbers for original equipment please, last 8 of VIN is 2J105097.

I went ahead and ordered the 1-2 and 3-4 solenoids, the 24230298’s. eBay had them for $40 and Prime Day special it was $25 so Amazon wins again. These are sold by Amazon and not a 3rd party so I feel safe they’re not fake. I’m still not sure if there is a 2-3 solenoid.

Just remembered something. It could also be an issue with the wiring harness...which would likely be fluid in the connector plug. Might be a good idea to undo the connector and look closely inside the end of the plug. If it looks wet, the harness should be be replaced.

If that's the issue, the harness can be replaced without further disassembly than just dropping the pan.

You guessed right on those #'s
Gm#24230298 is used for (1-2,3-4 shft) and (2-3 shft)
For (3-2 shft) is gm#24212327

Aha so there IS 4 shift solenoids plus the tcc lockup one. I’ll go ahead and order a third 24230298. Thanks!
Two of the 98 part number (A&B on the right side center), one of the 97 part number (lower left), and one PWM solenoid-acc lockup (upper left), and Force motor-pressure solenoid (Upper right)

You only have two of 1-4 shift solenoids, not 3 (98 part number). That makes 3 total shift solenoids unless you count the pressure solenoid as a shift solenoid.

Oh well, I’ll have an extra then. Weird how the parts list shows 3 of those. But I’d rather have an extra than not enough. I only want to pull the pan once, just hoping it’s the 3-2 solenoid that’s causing the issue. There’s a troubleshooting procedure according to alldatadiy but it looks like they call for specialized tools besides the Tech2 (which I do have, just not the other tools they call for). I’m currently waiting for a record breaking heat wave to pass. It’s supposed to be 105-110 for the next 4 days. In the PNW in June. Crazy.

That's unusual for you guys--the heat wave. Hoping it doesn't hit us!
