Doug fur is nice stuff I wish it was more common down here. Kinda funny lumber isn't true to size anymore, there was actually a couple lawsuits about it a few years back. The couple got home and found out they were deceived and their wood was smaller than they wanted. :manos::jester:

You can’t fix stupid. It actually does (or at least did years ago, not sure now) start out at 2” x 4” and then gets planed to 1 5/8” x 3 5/8”. The old stuff was always rough sawn.

I also stripped the ceiling. It had some weird fiber board shit and then for attic access it had this other weird contraption built, covered in the same oak stuff that the walls had. I pulled it down and found a bunch of junk up there. I’m gonna frame in an opening for wide pull-down attic stairs. The dude that used to own this house was a strange one. That cube hanging from the ceiling made no sense at all.

This wall came out pretty decent for 2 coats of mud and just primer. There will be no lack of outlets over my workbench, and I added a switched outlet for under cabinet lighting that I’ll install after I build a cabinet over the bench. I have 2 more 8’ led lights coming today and I’ll get rid of the final fluorescent. Amazon delivered the first pair of them a few days after they were scheduled so they let me request a refund. So that set cost me nothing instead of the $140 they listed for.

Awesome!! Yeah, my bigass garage had a whole ONE outlet when I moved in... thankfully, the sub-panel from when the basement was finished is right on the front wall of the garage, and had plenty of free spots, and plenty of cable capacity.. I added 3 -20amp circuits out there, and can still put in 220 whenever I get something that needs it, as I already have the second leg to the panel. Same with my shed wiring I installed last year.

I think I put 10 or 11 outlets in the garage and the shed is just ridiculous. I think there are 7, plus an exterior one, in 120sq ft. [emoji23][emoji1787] but I do use the shed as a half a shop all the time.

And I’m with 89Suburban... I hate texturing. The drywall and taping isn’t so bad but the texture. Bah..! I did get pretty good at orangepeel texture at my old house, but this one is knockdown and I just cannot get it right.

That’s just smooth wall. I textured most of my interior when I remodeled it years ago, including knockdown on a few ceilings. If I was texturing the garage it would look perfect. Smooth shows everything, and all I have on this is the texture from the roller.

Ya done good Mark!! Yeah, I haven’t done a whole lot of drywall. I can tell you it would look like a steaming pile though, next to your work. (As with several things..) [emoji23]
