So I’ve talked to a couple guys and I’m thinking I’ll be able to launch and load a v-drive by myself at the ramps around here. There would be a dock to tie up to so I could shove it on and off the trailer, tie up, and go park the truck. I can find nice v-drives for $10-12k like this one I’m looking at.

I just made a deal on this boat for $10,500. It has a freshly built 489 4 bolt bbc with wiseco pistons, eagle rods, **** crank, forged internals, Manley stainless valves, comp cam, 3/8 pushrods, Crower stainless rockers, dart intake 1050 dominator, new msd ignition, 10 qt pan etc. He wanted $12k. I just need a break in the rain, it’s 3 hours away and I don’t want to drive in the rain on the freeway with it that far. 93D1ECB5-7947-45E2-AC1B-000FC7C705EF.jpegC58B30B7-7497-4F12-9501-3490333E10BD.jpegB6C927AF-FA46-415A-8990-5461892CCAB7.jpeg8CD0C5A5-418E-4333-BEF1-F90BC2A982C7.png

Been tossing around the idea of buying a boat again after I sell my bike. Something less dangerous than riding a bike on the streets but still fun. I used to have a jet boat with a 460 Ford with a 6-71 blower that I built the engine for, back in the 80’s. I have always wanted a v-drive though ever since that boat. Fast off the line and I like how they look with the engines mounted backwards. Just bad a** boats. This one just sold near me for $8500. They can be real expensive but I think I can find one I like for under $10k. I would just use it on occasion to go out when the water is flat and there aren’t a bunch of other boats. Which would be easy now that im retired. I want one with either a BBC or if I could maybe find one with no motor and see about doing an LS turbo build. @randeez ’s motor would be perfect in one.View attachment 366218

Being a former motorcyclists, i find a boat is a close second to the experience of a motorcycle.

The best = airplane
But those have too many costs associated to ownership.
