Well it only gets driven in nice weather so hopefully there won't be gravel on the road like in the winter. So far so good though. If it starts getting them I'll look into a clear protection.

My HD front bumper had to be painted to be painted two times before 6k miles on the white truck. I rarely drove it.

I don't really see why the shape of a bumper would determine if the rocks that hit it would chip it. Driving slammed would make a difference I guess though. But I've seen rocks bounce and they don't necessarily stay low, they bounce high too. We don't use gravel on our roads unless it snows, and then they sweep it up right after. We got one light snow dusting this year and they didn't use it once. I will keep an eye on it though.
