Funny story....since we have time....

I used to work at this LARGE automotive interior supplier and we went IPO in 1994.

In 1995 they hired this Director of Communications... real piece of work,,,, couldn't complte a full sentence I swear... anyway after 2 years she left seeking fortune in politics (OMG LOL)

She dropped off the keys to her company Taurus at HR.

They put it into the "pool cars"

First time someone went to drive it the engine seized after 3 miles.....

At the dealership they realized the ENGINE OIL WAS NEVER CHANGED.....

Typical. I know a guy who has an early to mid 90's Chevy Cavalier. Used to belong to a driver ed school. He's had it at least 10-12 yrs, and swears he's never done a tune up OR an oil change! And he says it still runs great lol. He just adds oil when it needs it. Not sure if it has that big of an oil leak or what, but that's insane to me!

never got to see something like this type of damage first hand but they got some crazy videos out there of some serious nasty damage. best 2 I've watched was when the engine went it broke the block all the way around and smashed the whole top half into the hood before dropping back down on what was left of the bottom. other one was a pulling competition video guy was pushing it so hard the whole engine broke free and came right out of the front of the truck.

A friend asked me to come look at her daughter's car (2009 Aveo) the other night because when the daughter got home she told her parents that the car had overheated, fluid was coming out under the passenger side of the vehicle. She let it cool down for 20 minutes then, without putting any water or coolant in it, drove it 20 miles home and when they started it back up it was running rough in drive and reverse. The coolant was super low with multiple overtemp codes on the OBDII. I refilled the coolant and started the engine and it seemed to run okay until I put in gear. I checked the transmission fluid and there wasn't a drop of fluid on the dipstick. I asked when the last time she had the car serviced for at least an oil change and they weren't sure that it had had the hood even opened since she bought it.

How long has she had it?

I'd love to see the one in the pulling competition.

My damn jeep threw a rod out the side of the block a year or two ago. Still sitting in my driveway.

When I ets'd from the Army back in '91 I had an '81 K10 I had planned on driving home. Stopped for gas in Indiana. Got in and put it in DRIVE ( or so I thought; the fishing string broke in the gear indicator ). I got about 3 miles down the highway when a pushrod decided to exit via the oilpan. Must have been about a 1 1/2" hole where it went through. Had to sit for about 6 hours while my stepdad drove down with an F250 5th wheel to tow me back. Got home, threw a 327 in it, put on new liftkit and sold it. The dude who bought it called about a week later and said the rearend fell off while he was driving it. In my haste to get it back together and sold, I forgot to fully tighten the u-bolts!
