I've always found the info I need for my Tahoe on here and never really need to post; thank you all. However, I'm PCS'ing from FL to AZ and will be towing my '68 Camaro. I have an '04 with the towing package and wondering what all I should do to prep for this. I've never towed anything this far before and want to be sure I don't muck it up. I'm getting a car trailer from U-Haul for the trip and the Camaro weighs 3K. What should I expect on economy? I thought that 12 mpg sounded right. Is there anything that you all recommend I do/look at prior to going? Thank you.

Your going to need a big transmission cooler , air bags in the rear springs. Sway control for the trailer will help. Expect 12 mpg going down hill.
I think that Uhaul trailers have a 45mph max limit on them.

Might want to add a few more psi to the rear tires for the extra load, trans cooler, and make sure the trailer has a spare wheel and an appropriate jack/tools. I always re-check the tie-downs, straps, etc every time I stop for fuel or as needed just as a precaution. Check how much brake pad life you have along with the usual items (fluids, lights, etc) before your trip also.

Sounds easy enough. Thank you.
