What's the code number?

A heater circuit code is usually O2 sensor. If an O2 sensor fails, it will default back to an OEM base map that will allow the engine to still run......but not excellent.

Yep, I had a great running 2005 Tahoe, the one I currently have, and then one day, the CEL pops on and it would not idle worth a crap at a stop and was sluggish taking off. Changed all 4 sensors and problem solved. IMO, the oxygen sensors are maintenance items. Miles on the engine? High rpm's at highway speed problems?

The heater code, if it's for an O2 sensor, will indicate which bank (side) and whether upstream or downstream. Once you document that, if you're adventuresome you could switch/swap the same position sensors from side to side. First, though, check the heater fuse for the side that's having trouble. Likely it's a defective sensor, but you could also load test the circuit to make sure it's live and handles the necessary current, before throwing parts at it.
