So I was replacing my driver's side seat foam and got all done ready to put the low seat cushion back on the seat frame. I picked up my chair by this motor and the damn thing popped right off. Here are some pictures. What is this part? Is there an install video or instructions for me to get this connected? Am I screwed? Any help is greatly appreciated. I have to go to work tomorrow so I need to get this install back in my car tonight.

2005 GMC Yukon Denali 6L

Thanks

That's the problem. It has two plastic brackets on each side and a cable/rod that goes from one side of the motor to the one side of the track. I can only get one side connected.

That rod looks like a shaft that engages a gearbox on each track. Might need to see if you can remove the small gear box at the track, slide the shaft in so it engages the motor and then reinstall the gearbox.

What is the motor called. Maybe there is a video on how to replace it that will show me exactly what I need to do.

All I’m finding are listings on eBay that have that motor as “seat motor”.

You will need to take the little gearbox apart on one side in order to get the tube and drive cable off. Then you should be able to move one of the plastic brackets and get the motor back in. Then put the little gearbox back together. Take photos along the way if you will need a reference for reassembly.

I have no idea how to take this piece off. Any suggestions?

you might have to loosen the main support rod, if the motor popped off when you were moving the seat frame around then it must have enough play in it to get the motor back on then just handle it carefully until you get the seat frame bolted back in

I remembered something about that in The Seat Shop install video so I just watched the videos, hoping they had a repair procedure but all they say is to not grab that plastic bar to move the seat frame around with or it will break and “ you’ll never get the gears and motor back together right” but I say if it came off it should go back on unless something broke. They mention it in the first few minutes of this video.
